preXcon 2026: Meeting Point for Additive Manufacturing
New manufacturing processes, rising quality requirements, and AI are transforming the industry. Taking place from 3 to 5 November 2026 in St. Gallen, preXcon will feature twelve thematic sessions showing companies how to categorise and utilise technological developments.
Additive manufacturing has arrived in industrial series production. Numerous applications today prove the economic benefits of the technology. At the same time, questions remain: When is additive manufacturing worthwhile? What are its limits? And which process is the right choice for each respective application?
The session 'Additive Manufacturing: From Hype to Industrial Reality' on Wednesday afternoon, 4 November 2026, will address these issues. Users, product managers, and designers will share their experiences based on concrete business cases from plastic and metal applications. The focus is on real-life use cases as well as the question of where additive manufacturing offers economic advantages and where conventional processes are the better choice.
Exchange at the AM-Hub
The session is part of a comprehensive commitment by the Swiss Additive Manufacturing Group (SAMG) at preXcon. With the AM-Hub, SAMG is creating a central meeting point for the industry. Nine companies from the additive manufacturing environment will present their solutions, applications and expertise in the Hub. This provides an environment where specialist knowledge, practical experience and new contacts come together.
From manufacturing technology to Artificial Intelligence
From 3 to 5 November 2026, preXcon will combine specialist knowledge, technologies and industrial applications. In addition to the Additive Manufacturing session, the programme includes further sessions on key topics: 'Precision Manufacturing and Metrology', 'Production Management', 'Digital Transformation and Application of Artificial Intelligence', 'Optics, Photonics and Electronics' and 'Innovation, Business and Growth'. The Content Hub (specialist congress), Marketplace (trade exhibition) and networking formats create a platform for exchange, new collaborations and technology transfer.
